Riells del Fai-Riera y Gargantas del Tenes-Balma Rosa-Sant Miquel del Fai-Cingles de Bertí
A spectacular hike to an ancient monastery nestled in majestic cliffs! In a picturesque mountain gorge, just 45 kilometers from bustling Barcelona, lies an amazing architectural complex. Here mighty rocky cliffs and sparkling waterfalls create a unique natural ensemble. The main attraction is the impressive 60-meter high Salt del Tenes waterfall, which falls from the limestone cliffs at the very walls of the monastery. Beneath the monastery complex is an extensive system of natural caves - some of which the monks have expanded and converted into vaults and secret passages. This majestic historical monument of the 11th century is organically integrated into the natural rock massif and, as if floating between heaven and earth, rises at a dizzying height of more than 500 meters above sea level.
