Our journey will be packed and diverse! We'll embark on a fascinating exploration of medieval villages, including an amazing town perched on a cliff. Then we'll immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of mystical forests, where nature keeps its secrets. But that's not all! We'll also set out to discover several volcanoes, where we'll have a unique opportunity to study the causes of their eruptions, learn about soil formation history after volcanic activity, and the time periods of these processes.
Particularly interesting will be the story of the GARROTXA zone volcanoes, which nearly caused a catastrophe threatening the lands of Spain and France. We'll learn who became the hero of this dramatic story and how the tragedy was averted 🌋. Get ready for a truly explosive hike, full of exciting discoveries and unforgettable impressions! Moreover, our route includes a visit to the town of Besalu - a true gem of medieval architecture, known as the "transit city of witches". This amazing town has almost completely preserved its appearance since the 9th century 💥 and has been officially recognized as a historical national treasure since 1966. You'll be able to enter the town across a majestic 12th-century bridge, visit the ancient 11th-century Church of Sant Pere, and see reconstructed ritual Jewish baths dating back to the 11th-12th centuries. Every stone here breathes history, transporting us many centuries back in time.

There's a cafeteria at the meeting point where you can have breakfast before departure. There's also a shop to buy water and snacks.
I recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early.
I know it's early, but the trip is mega packed and awesome. It's a shame to waste precious time — better to rest for 2.5 hours in the morning on the road. Plus, we'll be able to visit additional locations not listed in the plan.
🔸 Backpack up to 35L, preferably with chest and waist straps;
🔸 Hearty lunch in a container (just in case, although there are cafes and restaurants at the locations 😉);
🔸 Clothing appropriate for the season and weather;
🔸 Hair tie (for those who need it 😉);
