The Sierra de Guara region hides an enormous wealth of natural, geological, historical, and cultural riches. The deep canyons, rushing rivers, remote caves, and dense forests have for thousands of years protected access to this unique cultural heritage. More than 60 caves throughout the area hide an incredible heritage of prehistoric cave paintings, forming one of the most beautiful open-air archaeological museums in Europe, the Vero River Cultural Park.
The route through the Vero River canyon is one of the most beautiful in the entire Sierra and Canyons of Guara Natural Park. A trail carved into the high limestone walls will take us down to the bottom of the deep canyon to visit some of the wildest and most mysterious places in Spain: Vero River Canyon, Barfaluy Shelters, Gallineroo Tozal Shelters, and Mallata Shelters.
